I was born, brought up, and educated in India. Moved to USA in 1982 and lived in this country ever since. Made a living doing biomedical research and teaching for several years at various universities. I began to learn English when I was six and with time I became proficient in the language. By about fourteen I became a voracious reader of all kinds of fiction. In the beginning, I read mostly British authors as I was a member of Britsh Council Library in Bangalore. I admired the writing of Somerset Maugham, Graham Greene, and a lot of others. After I moved to USA, I discovered John Updike, Paul Theroux, Salman Rusdhie, V.S. Naipal. I wanted to write because I felt that I can communicate my ideas better. My first novel, published last month turned out to be a romance fiction. I atrted writing this book about four years ago in my spare time.
