Lisa Washington was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a kidney transplant survivor.  She has been happily married for 14 years to Joseph Washington, Jr., the love of her life and the donor of her kidney.  She has two children, Tyler, age 9, and Julian, age 22.  Lisa is a certified yoga and meditation practitioner.  She is also a self-taught abstract artist who has sold her pieces in the Creative Spirit Gallery in downtown Decatur.   She is the owner and creator of B’Tyli Natural Skin Therapies, an all-natural skin and body care company.  She enjoys being with her family and friends.  She is currently developing a non-profit organization that will help empower teen moms all over the Atlanta area to believe in the dreams that have already been placed in them.  She hopes that maybe just one experience, one trial she has faced, will bring hope and truth to you.   Authors’ Statement:   Writing moves me to new truths within myself. It is in that space I am open.  I feel there is no facades, only truth.  It is within writing I can share heart and soul, and touch others, through books we can in the privacy of our own spirits share our humanity.   “May you find truth in all you seek.”
