From a very young age, Doreen knew that she would be an author.  She has spent a lifetime writing herself into good situations and out of bad ones.  As strange events began to unveil themselves throughout her life, Doreen began to journal her incredible journey until the time came to share her story with the world.  Followed, guided, and led by the number 11:11, Doreen found it impossible not to incorporate the impact of its presence in her book.  She also found herself in a constant struggle with each of the seven basic sins, as do most others, and realized through the power of her writing that past mistakes could be banished and a future of peace could be achieved. Doreen's major literary influences include Dean Koontz and Janet Evanovich. Koontz's books have continued to console Ms. Serrano with the knowledge that she is not alone in her strangest and most uncomfortable thoughts and theories.  Evanovich has provided Ms. Serrano with years of shared humor and the ability to turn her darkest moments into more humorous ones.  However, it is Doreen's two sons who have provided her the most inspiration of all.  Emotion, in all its pain and glory, is the greatest combatant to writer's block and the love she feels for her boys allowed her story to finally see its fruition. Doreen has enjoyed the success that has come from her first novel and is currently working on it's sequel, 11:12. 

Doreen has received many commendations and honors from her position as a social worker and hopes to soon begin collecting more as an author.
