Brenda Batts is a Behavior Consultant, the mother of two sons; Alex, an 18 year old teen with Autism, and Douglas (JR), a 20 year old typically developing young adult. She is also the owner and director of Focus on the Future Training Center; a private school for students with Autism and other related developmental disorders located in Plano, Texas.
Through her publications and workshop presentations, Brenda shares her proven and innovating behavior management and independence training techniques, which she developed as a result of her twenty years of experience both as a much sought-after national and international presenter in the field of special needs, and her own personal journey in the path of helping special-needs students achieve independence. She is able to relate to parents as an educator, author, evangelist, and parent of a child with special needs. She leverages her life experiences to effectively connect with her readers. Brenda’s philosophy is that every child can learn when given the necessary tools. She believes that it is not enough to prepare our children for the world; we must prepare the world for our children. In her writings, Brenda welcomes readers to a journey filled with lessons in living, loving, and learning.
