I am an attorney practicing in west central Nebraska who enjoys literature and history.  My parents raised me to love books as we had hundreds scattered about the house waiting for a reader.   I grew up in the small town of Ravenna, along the banks of the South Loup River, and I can not image a better childhood.  I attended the University of Nebraska and recieved a degree in history.  While I was attending law school the idea for my first book, "End of Pawnee Starlight", was born.  I write historical novels because I believe people should learn something as they enjoy a good book.  I enjoy the work of the late Terry C. Johnston as he was a master at blending historical facts and personalities to a lively and engaging storyline.  Of course, no one can describe the Nebraska landscape and sky as well as Willa Cather.  The way that she wrote about the plains and the enormous effect that the size and desolation of the land had upon the inhabitants was incredible. I also enjoy the works of Marie Sandoz, James Michener, and James Fenimore Cooper.  I love reading nearly as much as I love writing.  I know that reading is far easier!!
