In 2004, Trisha was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer and given months to live.  As a patient, she made plenty of mistakes until she finally began taking command of the situation herself. Five years later, she has "recovered" quite nicely, parlaying her odyssey into advice for others.  Today Trisha writes and speaks internationally on patient empowerment topics. She is a newspaper columnist, radio talk show host, guide to patient empowerment at About.com. and busy blogger.  You'll find her quoted in the Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, Health Leaders Media, NPR, CNN and other media.
