Spent six years in the circus. Entertained our troops. Danced around the world. Niece took me for show and tell!

Background Information

I was born Jacqueline Pansy in 1953 to parents who were traveling with a small circus.  My dad, Gil, had three acts, strongman, magician and ventriloquist.  My mother, Pansy, who was very shy acted as a shield for the games.  As I grew up I, along with my older sister, was incorporated into small parts of my dad's act.  When it was time to start school I didn't want to go and I tried everything, including flunking first grade.  My parents sent me to summer-school and quit the circus.  I was devistated, my plan had failed.

When I was ten, my sister, "Gilda" who was twelve, very intelligent and creative decided to start a Drama Club where in she would write, direct and produce her own plays starring none other than little ol me who was still quite shy... I would like to add that I only did it for fear of being beaten up by Gilda, who was by far the stronger of the two of us.  My first play, my first applause, I was hooked.  I began to blossom, to come out of my shell, to go beyond my comfort zone and realize I had a future in the arts.  I decided to be a dancer, go figure.

Fast forward to the ripe old age of twenty, I had enrolled in jazz dance, my teacher told me to give up because I was too old.  I refused to give up and found Ruth Mones, a ballet instructor who told me yes, I could learn to dance if I was willing to work very hard but that I would have a very short life span as a dancer because of my age.  Talk about sweat, pain, tears and then, nine years of success.  Trully wonderful people have blessed my life, thank you Ruth Mones.

My first dance job was a USO tour "The Great American Review" in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.  I loved performing for our troups.  God Bless them everyone for risking there lives to keep America safe and free!  To our troops, thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul.  I spent nine years dancing all over the world in various revues having an experience of a life time that at one time seemed unattainable.  My last show was at the age of thirty one, "The Moulin Rouge" at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel Casino.  I could have danced longer but I met the love of my life who was a chef at the Hilton.  I quit, got married to Loren Martinez and tried to have children.  That didn't pan out, so needless to say we are childless but are surrounded by twenty eight loving nieces and nephews with more on the way!

Some where around the age of forty my sister, Gilda, called and said "I have written a movie and I have a producer financing it, I REALLY need you to be in it!"  So I went to Phoenix, Arizona to help my sister make a movie called "The Town That Outlawed Christmas".  I played the lead female villan (Jane) and was an associate producer.  It was such a cute family friendly movie.  But unfortunately they ran out of financing and it sits in a can.  I believe you can purchase it on line, but thats as far they got before the financing ran out.

Writting and illustrating childrens stories was something I started for my nieces and nephews at the ripe old age of thirty eight, I think.  After thirty it becomes a blur, my mind refuses to grow old, so I tend to get confused.  Anyway, I wanted them to have wonderful memories of our family gatherings.  Then one day, my ten year old niece, "Sheila" asked her teacher if she could bring Aunt Jackie for show and tell.  I went to First Presbyterian Academy dressed as a jester and told them a tale that only a jester would know, "A Dragons Tooth".  My story was a big hit!  Word of mouth took my stories to the City of Las Vegas/Parks and Rereations "A Day for Children" at the Mirabelli Comminity Center, North Las Vegas Community Center and Jo Mackey Academy of Leadership and Global Communications.  All the above schools and centers have given me high marks for my stories, my ability to capture the attention of all the children and the inspiration it instills in them.  I have been invited back numerous times to read for them.  Teachers, parents, friends and family all would say, "you have got to get published, we love your stories", they have been so supportive, I am so lucky.  I searched and searched for a publishing company.  It was very frustrating.  I took a long break, then along came Publish America.  The rest is history.

I now am on a new adventure in my life and have only begun to tap my imagination.  My goal is to help children see that reading can be fun and as well as insightful.

That's my life in a nut shell!
