I taught ESL for 16 years in the Middle East: Peace Corps Iran, 69-71; Iranzamin International School in Arak (71-74); Saudi Aarbia (Aramco, Dhahran) 82-89; and the UEA National University in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (92-95). I also taught ESL is Chicago and taught in Boulder, Golden, and Denver, CO. I have written my whole life--several magazine articles on global topics and two books The Meaning of the Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse (2001)and The Cheyenne Canon and Broadmoor Guidebook & Almanac (1992). I am currently writing a memoir based on my recovery from a Traumatic Brain Injury I sustained in Boulder in 2007. My influences include Studs Terkel, Sadeq Heydayat, and Ernest Hemingway.
