I became interested in applying physical sciences to psychology in the same way they are used to understand and study biology during my doctoral research in biophysics.  I came to believe through many experiences that psychological and social experiences may be modeled using basic scientific principles.  The way events seemed to occur "synchronistically" to me was particularly noteworthy, and this is discussed in my new book called "The Interconnectedness of Reality." While I am not a true believer in Jung's definition of synchronicity, I do believe it can be a gateway into the study of psychology using concepts in physics and chemistry.  My approach is a little different than others who often suggest "spooky" quantum mechanical effects occurring over distances, such as through telepathy and paranormal types of effects.  My views are really classically based, beginning with Freud and determinism, Einstein, and anyone else who is grounded in reality based on established physical principles.
