ABOUT PROFESSOR DAVID IORNEM
David Iornem, Ph.D., D.Litt., M.Sc., M.CAM., MBIM, FCIM, FIPFM, FIMC, CMC, FNIM, FNIMN, is a management consultant, university teacher and author of numerous articles published in business and management journals including Management in Nigeria, the journal of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is a major contributor to the NIM book of readings titled: Marketing Theory for Practitioners, author of How to be a Good Manager in 10 Minutes, Handbook for Management Consultants, The Marketing of Management Consultancy Services, New Trends in Business Consulting, which has also been translated into Japanese, and 34 other books on various management and related topics. He is a Federal Government Accredited Management Educator.
He was a recipient of the UNESCO Year of Education Award (1970). Formerly Adjunct Professor at the Union Graduate School, Cincinnati, Senior Principal Lecturer and Head of Department of Marketing, Purchasing and Supply at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Professor Iornem is currently Director General of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) Kaduna, and faculty member of the Commonwealth University Belize www.cub-edu.com and London Graduate Schoo www.LondonGS.co.uk. He previously at different times held visitingfaculty positions at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria - Nigeria, Bayero University Business School, Kano - Nigeria, and Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, Germany where he maintained active interest in developing senior executives through the MBA degree programmes of these Universities. Prof. David Iornem is a leading academic in the promotion of continuing education for working executives, professionals and entrepreneurs through open distance learning programmes of the University of London and St Clements University, British West Indies www.stclements.edu, where he is retained as consultant and Professor of Management.
The management and Board-room experience of Professor Iornem spans both private and public companies/organisations as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs). This includes Nigerian Breweries Plc., Unilever Nigeria Plc., Center for Management Development (CMD) Lagos, Governing Council of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Governing Council of the University of Management and Technology, Ibadan, Board of Directors of Benue Investment Co. Limited, Benue Development Company Limited, New Idea Limited, Benue State Scholarships Board, the YMCA, the Institute of Management Consultants, Academic Board of the Kaduna Polytechnic, Academic Council of the St Clements University, British West Indies, the Nigerian Marketing Association, the UK Universities Grants Sub-Committee on Management Education and several Senate Committees (Foreign Affairs, Petroleum Resources, Management Services and Communications) while he served as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Due to the popular nature of his management talks and effectiveness of his presentation style, his speaking engagements are frequent and well sought after – an average of two a month.
