Video Book Trailer           I spent five years as a Marine reconnaissance sniper and three years in the Army Special Forces. During my years in special operations, I found hidden in the walls of America things that no one should know -- or should want to know. I will talk about some of these personal experiences, as well as some of my colleagues. Although some of these missions are still classified, I will change some content and names to protect both confidentiality and myself.  The events of which I write are horrific in nature, yet happen  every day around the world. There is no media coverage of  these events, no family members are aware of them, and  most of all, they are never spoken of except among the few who participate in them.      I started writing this book as therapy. I had no intention of publishing it. It was an introverted way of talking about my experiences. Like every person who has ever seen combat, it was not something I wished to share with most people. On the other hand, I felt the general population needed to know what their military endures to ensure their freedom and keep them safe.      I have learned to control the anger I once felt at myself. I learned to trust God. I have even learned to talk about my experiences, and to live day by day. To a select few, I've confessed the urge to take a human life. Don't misinterpret -- I would take no pleasure in the suffering of the innocent, but my thoughts are always directed at the evils of society; drug runners, violent criminals, or enemies of foreign lands.      Paraphrasing Marine Gunner Sergeant Carlos Hathcock, once you've hunted men, the thought never leaves you. Some wish to forget. For others, the thoughts linger, but they are always there. I have struggled to deal with this for a long time. Finally, I accepted it as a consequence of war. I think of it once in a while, and move on to better thoughts. Once I realized I wasn't alone, the experience of war became easier to accept.       I still remember my friends, but I've learned to accept their deaths. They died in battle, with honor and pride. They died with for their country and their belief in its values as a society of peace, freedom, and happiness. We were common men in uncommon circumstances. It was our job.   Bio:      Bob Cannady grew up in a small Montana town and always dreamed of being in the military and serving his country. He started out in the Marines at age 18 and served for five years, extended for a year of extra duty for Desert Storm, where he served in the capacity of a Sniper. After his discharge from the service he studied psychology at Montana State University. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and then began pursuing his Master's Degree in the same field of study. When one of his professors suggested writing a novel as a technique to help cope with society outside the military walls, Bob began work on his first book, Tip of the Spear, For Love of Thy Country.      In 1998 Bob began another career in the military with the U.S. Army. He felt it was his duty to try one more time to serve his country, He believed he cheated death in Desert Storm and figured this would be the only way he could find closure in his life. During his time of service he received a Master's Degree in Human Resources, and also became involved with social work, helping young children by mentorship and leadership. After leaving the Army, Bob accepted a position working in the oil field as an engineer, which is his current vocation. After 10 years of service in the oil field he requested to go back to where it started and find closure in his life. He accepted a position in Saudi Arabia for three years to finally end his battle of despair.      Bob's life has finally come to closure and life begins at 40. Bob is currently finishing his PH. D. Psychology, to help him learn how to cope and how to help others. He will never forget his past, he will always look into the future and let God help him walk through life.      People always ask about his book if it all really happened and his response is always the same, " It doesn't matter if it's true or not it's what you perceive to be true. If you want something to be real then it is and if you choose not to believe it then you have that right."
