My grandmother was a compassionate, fun-loving, no-nonsense woman with firm beliefs and values and she was never at a loss for words to express them. Carla (Sain) Ladd was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and is the eldest of three. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. She is a member of the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Deaconess Board and a State Board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Carla is the founder of the DenverBlackPages.com (DBP) and the Mountain Region Black Economic Summit (MRBES.COM). Through her work with the DBP and the MRBES, Carla has received numerous awards for community service and business awards including the Urban Spectrum's African Americans Who Make a Difference (2003), the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce's Clara Brown Award (2006), the Colorado Black Women for Political Action's Community Service Award (2007), the Gospel Music Workshop of America Business Award (2008), and the National Council of Negro Women's Business Award (2008).
