I started writing my freshman year of high school at age 14. I started writing create your own adventure stories with a girlfriend. That's how I came up with the names of some of my characters in my romance novel series. That same year, I read Danielle Steel's Wanderlust and decided to I wanted to write romance. I didn't even have a boyfriend then, but I did know about unrequited love. That became a theme of my romance, which started out as a play. I was into theater in high school. I decided the play was too long and to make novels out of it. Over the years, my writings have made several trips to the trash can, including the time I was in boot camp. I wrote in notebooks for many years and didn't really start saving my writing on computers until I was in the military. I didn't finish anything until I was stationed in Germany.  I don't write the traditional short story. Mine are more like novellas. My first e-published short story was "Romance's Destiny at Marnia," which is the fantasy version of my  modern romance novel series.  My first published "freshman" novel  Bryce was the fantasy version of my modern Malan and Lathal romance series. I have two other published novels, Camp Lone Star and Matters of the Heart.   While writing creatively, I pursued a writing profession, journalism for more than two decades and won prizes. About seven years ago, I left my former profession, went to graduate school and earned a master's degree in education, becoming a teacher. My poetry was published in anthologies at colleges I attended as a graduate student. I tend to write romance series usually about the same characters through the course of their lives. I typically "kick it up a knot" and often my novels have adult, mature content. Some readers and friends have said my style is very episodic comparing me to New Mexico writer Tony Hillerman.  I've only read one book in his mystery series. Others have said I wrote like a show formerly aired on HBO. Still others said they could see my books as movies. Maybe even plays.  My major influence as an episodic writer is George Lucas. I've been a Star Wars saga fan since 1977. I also am a fan of romance writers Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel. I'm also a big fan of DC and Marvel comic show and have been since childhood. At present, I'm a fan of the shows "Arrow," "The Flash", "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl." Three years ago I sacrificed my writing and went into a dark storm where I wasn't writing at all. During that time I made many unsuccessful attempts to reclaim my love and passion. I started blogging here about a year ago and this year it's been my goal to write more. With my busy schedule I struggle to keep up with my goal but I have to remind myself "it's progress not perfection."
