David Lucero was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His parents, Fred and Norma, along with his older brother, Christopher, taught him from a young age to utilize his creativity.  Going to the catholic school San Felipe De Neri, David discovered a love for religious history and world cultures, and he began utilizing this love and creativity in developing his writing talents, which earned him extra-credit in school, and also brought about an appreciation for poetry, song lyrics, and journalism.    However, writing articles for the school newspaper was nothing like concocting his own stories for fun.  His first short story, The Adventures of Johnathan Massachusetts, earned him acclaim among his teachers, but David soon put aside the writing of this story to further develop his skills.   In a short-story writing class in college, David wrote well-recieved short story named Two Men Go Into A Bar, which was about God and The Devil having a night out barhopping across the world.  This was David's first foray in using religious characters in fiction.   David began working on his first novel, Nephilim: Genesis, in late 1994.  After several rough drafts, revisions, and re-developments, it was decided that the whole storyline was missing something.  It wasn’t until 2001, when David met his future-wife, Monique, that David found his muse.  Basing his main characters on himself and his best friends, David developed an intricate storyline of action, fantasy, and comedic dialogue that finally he was satisfied with.    In 2009, Nephilim: Genesis was published by Xlibris and is available in hardcover, paperback, and e-book format.
