An Aussie author from the 'Land Down Under' living in an ancient, rambling old farmhouse out in the wilds of Pennsylvania, circa 1860. In our current abode: my husband (also an author) and I share with an 'amiable' ghost and three cats, all of which are sometimes up for fun times and games at all hours of the night and day.... ....Erie happenings and sounds abound in the night.... and I thought they were squirrels, birds or even the cats playing hide and go seek with each other....????   It is the resident ghost about in the dark of the night (and recently the light of daytime).   Tobacco (very old style pipe tobacco and like someone is freshly smoking a pipe) smoke strongly evident in the upstairs library in the daytime, winter or summer at random times and weather... This room gets cold, freezing cold .....   To be woken from a deep sleep at 1.00am by the light switch being flipped on in the walk in clothes closet in the bedroom....so I stumbled over and switched it off and promptly went back to sleep.   Then a couple of weeks later woken at 5.00pm by the old bedside lamp switching itself on ...even I have difficulty switching the switch on it is that old...   Walking into the downstairs bathroom after midnight and switching on a light that did not work... (I thought a bulb must have blown)... then switching the other light on and that one worked. Then the first one went on...then both went off. Then both flashed off and on a few times and then went off. Went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and watched both light switches working in alternate moments before they went off completely. Went to bed thinking to check them on the morrow. They have worked fine ever since.... Now this is the very same bathroom that had some very unpleasant odors (intermittent odors) that cleaning with strong cleaners and bleach failed to clear ... and the hand towel is found on the floor sometimes after careful placement of the same....   Lately the smell of freshly lit timber burning in the lounge in the daytime only... and no fires burning inside or outside...and no smell anywhere else except in that one spot in the lounge room. The smell disappears totally only to return days later ...all at the same time of the day...   The fresh timber smell appearing yesterday...the computer goes down in the office ...then the television in the lounge goes off. After checking out both power and wiring and finding nothing untoward I went upstairs and when I returned the smell of smoke had disappeared and both computer and TV worked fine.   Then this feather rose up from the table where it had lain for some days to eventually stand completely vertical….. I managed to get this photo, the others are rather blurry as I was too close …..above.   These spooky events are becoming more frequent and varied... So what is next....?
