I love reading books of all kinds, especially children's novels that take me to another place. Growing up in a large family, we always made up worlds to play in, ideas coming from stories I’d read. My favorite books when I was young was "James and the Giant Peach" and "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." I started writing when I stayed home to be a fulltime mom in Las Vegas and had lots of spare time. I wanted to try something new and make up stories my son might like to read. The first book took just over a year to write. I found online friends to help me improve. During a trip to Phoenix over the holidays one year, my family stopped at the Grand Canyon South Rim, where inspiration struck for my second story- The Togi Tree. I wrote the first version in a month and improved it over the next year to be the fun adventure it is now.   I live in Salt Lake City with my fun, supportive husband, always-inquisitive son and fluffy dog Zeus, who thinks I can’t write unless he’s on top of my desk watching.
