I’ve lived a life full of changes, challenges and adventures — experiences that have given me a lifelong fascination with people, relationships and the stories hidden beneath the surface. I live in W​estern Australia, where I’m lucky enough to walk beside the ocean each morning. The coastline, the people I meet and the world around me continue to inspire my writing. I have always been a reader. My love of books began when I was six years old, when my teacher read a chapter of an Enid Blyton story to our class. I was hooked. That love of storytelling has stayed with me throughout my life and eventually led me to write my own novels. Before becoming a full-time writer, I worked in newspapers, taught English literature, owned and ran  three hotels — experiences that introduced me to a wonderful variety of people and gave me endless insights into human nature. I have published eight novels, and my next one, Switch is coming out in December. Now retired I spend my time writing, playing bridge studying French and, of course, reading. I believe the best stories are about ordinary people discovering unexpected courage when life takes them somewhere they never imagined going. I write contemporary women’s fiction and romantic suspense with warmth, humour and a belief in second chances — because life’s most interesting chapters are often the ones we never planned.       ​     ​  

A qualified teacher, Ann went on to become Marketing Manager of Perth’s Daily News and United Press Group, winning an INMA award for her innovative newspaper promotions.
