I am a writer and editor, as well as a web developer, graphic artist, and publications designer. I’ve been publishing articles, journals, books, software manuals, and other blocks of text for almost ten years now. I write fantasy novels that that might be called historical fiction, or steampunk, or westerns, or crime thrillers. (I don't believe in genre labels.) I like to create new sorts of heroes that break down stereotypes and tell stories that are both personal and epic in scope. I also write science fiction novels that combine big ideas with big action and carefully crafted characters, straddling hard science fiction and space fantasy. I think a good book should be as fun as it is intelligent, and provides the reader with a nice little vacation from reality for a while. My favorite fantasy authors (at the moment) are GRR Martin and Patrick Rothfuss, and my favorite science fiction authors are Michael Flynn and Charlie Stross.
