I had been a reporter and written magazine articles. When my wife was injured during a procedure at Johns Hopkins, I did some research and found out she was part of a study that was in progress and that a trainee had been assigend to do the job instead of the doctor we contracted with. What I found in FDA transcripts and professional journals led me to write a book about what happened to my wife.
