I began writing as a child and my first job was in a Scottish publishers.  Then the oil boom hit Scotland and I went into computing to help bring up my two children who were toddlers at that time.  Whilst working in the Oil Industry, I attended Creative Writing classes at Dundee University, did a few corrospondence courses in writing as well, just to keep my hand in, of course. When my children became teenagers, and I was older and wiser, and gave up the Oil Industry and took my Diploma in Theatre Arts so that I could write plays, afterwhich I became a Writer/Director and set up lots and lots of community theatres and ran lots and drama workshops.  Over nearly 20 years, I wrote about 40 or so plays, songs, poems etc.  My daughter became ill when she was aged 28 and needed our help so I then left the drama, except for special projects, and began writing copy for the Internet while she recovered enough to live in her own house again etc. All of life's experiences, I belief, are relevant and there is always someone out there who enjoys the same things as you do or who has experienced the same thing as you have, so my love of Flowers and gardens helped me produce my book, Mythical Flower Stories, and the question of 'Who named the Stars?' led me on a journey of enjoyable research and learning and helped me to produce my book, Mythical Star Signs.  My drama experiences with thousands of children and adults, helped me produce my handbook, How to Run Drama Workshops and Set Up Your Own Theatre Group. An 18 year period of research for one book I am now writing about the lifelong friendship between Mary Godwin Shelley and Isabella Baxter was prompted first by my discovery that the first private botanical gardens in Scotland was in Forfar, and that without it we may never have heard of Mary Shelley or indeed, Frankenstein!  This new book should be published in Autumn.  Watch this space and thank you for your interest in my biography.
