As a young adult, I had many of the same beliefs that Atheists and Agnostics have about spiritual things.  I  searched for truth through philosophy and academics .  From my perspective, Christianity was not a credible philosophy or a legitimate argument for the existence of God.   I was "turned off" to Christianity because of the pretentious and judgmental attitude I had witnessed in professed Christians.  The historical atrocities and the thousands of cases of sexual abuse did not help the cause for God's love and grace. It wasn't until I decided to read the Bible for myself that I discovered who Jesus really is and the truth about the Bible. I noticed that many Christians do not understand the faith they claim and it is this misunderstanding that causes them to impute moral standards on society in the name of God. I wrote a book on this subject and have sorted through many of the misunderstood aspects of Christianity that keep people from knowing Jesus personally.  Most of which have to do with the false premise that religion and morality are central to God's plan for our lives.
