Life may not have dealt me the best cards all the time but I made the choice to play the best hand I could. I've used writing to sort through the difficult times in my life, and in my own sorting there has been growth. My most recent projects reflect my choice to grow and it has become more than a catch phrase...choosing to grow is a way of life. When we are children we cannot stop the growing that happens. From year to year, our clothes stop fitting, our teeth fall out (growing in again of course), and the world is opened up with daily brain development. There is a point, however, when we stop growing up. Instead, we just start growing old. Growing old happens to our bodies and we have just about as much control over those changes as we do when we are little, but the blessing of age is that we can still choose to grow and mature through the things life throws at us. The growth is a decision to accept life for what it is and a choice to celebrate it. That is why I will continue to Choose to Grow.
