Being from Sydney, Australia I am influenced greatly by the Australian authors I read when I was young: John Marsden and Gillian Rubenstein amongst the biggest influences. I write science fiction/fantasy, heavily leaning on the fantasy side, and started writing in high school. After school, I took a course in creative writing at university, but ended up a dropout because of my tendancy to be an awful student, as well as the focus of the course on literary short shories, where I write sci-fi/fantasy novels. A few years ago, I began posting a blog to get stories of mine out there, working at making better short stories, and some time after that, I started a second blog to give life and story form to my fragmented novel ideas in the hopes that I can get some of my backlog of ideas finished. I'm currently working on a serious novel that I could one day get published. If this doesn't work out, I'm definitely going to take a self-publishing route to get my work out into the world, because what are we authors for, if not for people to read our work?
