Robin Mitchell Ayele is an author, poet and owner of Warm Brown Sugar Books (WBS) and Chocolate Angel Publications. Her first publishing company, Chocolate Angel Publications (CAP) was established in 2008 amd focused on adult fiction. She published two very popular novels under CAP. Her success with CAP encourages her to begin a sister publishing companyt for children. Started in 2011, WBS strives to publish and support globally focused children's literature that inspires, encourages and uplifts. Makeda's MARVELOUS Monday Monday is the first book in the "Walk Around the World' series! It will be released in late summer 2011. She is working with several other authors on developing interesting and exciting stories of the lives of children in the Bahamas, South Africa, Rome and London. Mrs. Mitchell-Ayele is a member of the Midatlantic Publishers Association, the Children Writers Group, the United Black Writers, the Baltimore Playwrights and Sankofa Literary Society. She has studied writing under esteemed author Marita Golden and been recognized by renowned poet Sonia Sanchez and prestigious film director Spike Lee. She has worked at the nationally known and beloved Karibu Book Store in Prince Georges County, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University and a Masters degree from Morgan State University. A Baltimore native, she has lived in her birth home of the District of Columbia as well as New York, Philadelphia, Nashville and Norfolk. A world traveler, she has visited most of Europe, the UK and Canada. She has also resided in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
