“My work with health professionals and the public led me to write books about nutrition and diabetes,” said Graham. “I wanted books that would be easy-to-read and practical, and also beautiful and inspiring. Books that would make changes easier and enjoyable for all those affected.” Raised in Nairobi, Kenya, Karen learned to appreciate the many cultures and ethnic foods of Africa. The inspiration to work with people and to study food and health issues was born in those early years. From this passion, she became a dietitian in Canada and a volunteer in areas such as literacy and international dietetics.
