I was born dyslexic into an academically orientated family in the days before the disability was recognised - early years were not easy! But I survived and am still writing. My book, Astrology and Heredity: The Thread of Life, was published in 1994 and 1995 by Blandford Press.  It is now out of print although a few copies do keep turning up on the internet. I began writing poetry and stores (very badly spelt ones) at about 5 and was first published at the age of 8 after winning a promotional competition through my school and receiving a supply of biscuits as a prize together with the inclusion of my story in a book of children's stories.  I had to wait many decades before getting into print again. I have had a great many poems published in magazines and in anthologies and also several short stories and articles. I write adult fiction and non-fiction, poetry, astological books, but my main genre is children's fiction. In this last genre I have spilt my books into several series, aimed at different age ranges. The are: Animal Tales (5 titles), Creature Features (2 titles), Toy Fantasies (3 titles), Fluff Gang Stories (2 titles,) Octinnia Adventures (1 titles so far but 7 more to come) and Families, Feuds and Friendships (2 titles with one more on-going and ready soon). My latest two titles in the Animal Tales, A Squirrel Called Cyril and As Pretty as a Picture both on pre-release available to order prior to launch date of 19 October 2013. Samples can be downloaded prior to this date There is also a new series category, Christmas Magic (1 title - so far). I have been curtailed in my writing recently because of a broken wrist and a damaged tendon. I am right-handed and it is my right arm that is affected. Although I am now recovering using the keyboard for longer periods is still difficult and I have therefore had to abandon any new projects and even put my latest children's book Flat Cats on hold. Hopefully I should be able to work for longer periods as my recovery progresses.
