I began writing Vindictive as a junior in high school. I held a passion to do something expressive for a long time, but did not necessarily know what exactly I had to do to "quench my thirst". So I began writing, and this was without planning the plot or the characters. At the time I was writing to entertain myself, and as I loved mystery novels, I turned out to write one. I was constantly left clueless when I was writing it, because I never knew what was going to happen next or what my characters were going to do. In May 2011, I received the offer of possibly publishing my manuscript through a publishing company in Canada, Friesen Press. We set up a contract and I finished writing my manuscript. We worked on it throughout the year, and by New Year's Eve, I had virtually seen the cover and the format of my book. Then a few weeks into January, several websites started to promote my novel, and it was available for purchase. This experience changed my path as a whole. I wanted to become a doctor ever since I was a child, but after this remarkable adventure, I am never going to stop writing. I think that one is truly an author when they are not only writing to interest his or her readers, but also to entertain themselves. Every moment of this journey, I was pleasing myself with all the open possibilities a blank piece of paper and a pen provided for me. Especially since I am a teenager in high school, I felt that I had so much freedom writing something like this, because in our English classes we are to format our writing according to a prompt or have simple guidelines. This marvelous exploit is still a motivation for me as I began to write my sequel a few months ago.
