Background
Information
Jean Harrington is the author of the Murders by Design Mystery Series. The first in the series, Designed for Death was pubbed in January as an e-book, and audio.. In December, Carina Press will also release a print edition to their World Wide Mystery Club.
Influences? Jean cites the love of a good story and the desire to create a sassy, witty heroine. Deva Dunne, that's the girl, is an interior designer who knows the devil's in the details, but not that the devil in the book has designs on her.
A family interior design business provided the background info Jean needed to write this series, and her own background as a college teacher of English lit and writing provided the driving edge that gave her the nerve to leap into murder. The second book, The Monet Murders is next out, and June's the date for that one. Enjoy!
Accomplishments
B.A., M. A. in English literature from the University of Rhode Island. Taught for 16 years at Becker College in Worcester Massachusetts. Both Jean's Irish historicals and her more recent mysteries have won several RWA awards from around the country.
