Information
Matthew Thompson is an avid reader and an aspiring author of fantasy. He has always loved to read, and one day, nearly seven years ago, this passion fathered a thought: If I enjoyed reading so much, why not try to write?
The idea took hold. Matthew tried a few unsuccessful story ideas ranging from mischievous kittens to an apocalyptic World War III before settling down into fantasy. He has written three novels, the last of which, entitled Moonlight, is being published by SynergEbooks.
Matthew hopes to continue his career in writing throughout college and beyond. His main inspirations are from books, from The Lord of the Rings to The Great Gatsby and One Hundred Years of Solitude.
Matthew also attended the Iowa Young Writers' Studio in 2012, which gave him not only a much-improved understanding of writing but also an incredible vision of what writing with others can be.
