Her vivid stories initially came in cartoon form. It was a way of expressing herself and getting in touch with her feelings. She attended Queensborough Community College, where she took a Nursing Program.  It’s not too surprising that she would take such a program, as her Mother and Sister, were also nurses, however, even though there were family ties, Barbie Ann Matthews, truly  wanted to help people get well, and improve their activities of daily living. Barbie Ann, has always found that through writing, she brings clarity to her thoughts and life, and so, she decided to take a different direction in her life, and pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Barbie Ann took the “WIBO” program, which is the Workshop in Business Opportunities.  She learned how to become a Freelance Entrepreneur.  In this workshop, she focused her mind on creating an informative business newsletter; it was a new way of helping people but, equally fulfilling.  Barbie Ann called her newsletter “The Gothic Business News” which was created to help those, who had a desire to work from home, creating their own niche.  In her very informative newsletter she had not only written in-depth home business information; she also sold advertising space for her readers to increase exposure for their businesses.  Since diversity and multiplicity keeps life interesting, Barbie Ann Matthews, took another course. This course was about creating her own newsletter as well. It was a meaty course which has proven to be incredibly invaluable to her as well. She enriches her mind when researching topics that may not always be familiar to her.
