Ever since the first library card my mother took me to get at the Audobon library I've been a fan of stories. I devoured the Hardy Boy series, reread the Chronicles of Narnia multiple times, found out everything that Brer Rabbit and friends ever did, and discovered the amazing folklore that came from the American Tall Tales. Soon my desire to read other's stories turned into a desire to write my own. My first short stories were about the action figures I played with. I wrote tales of how Colonel Courage and Flashfire (both G.I.Joes) saved the whole world. When I was introduced to the works of my favorite author of all time, Stephen King, those stories began to grow more involved. I began to mimic his syle as I wrote. As I matured, I found that I loved writing about characters more than I liked writing about specific situations and I began to develop my own style of character driven writing. I found that if someone could connect with the characters that I created, they would be able to walk with those characters through whatever situation they found themselves in. Who are my inspirations? First and foremost, Stephen King--the master of the macabre. His talent for writing is so profound that I don't even have words to describe it.  Besides Stephen King, I love Jim Butcher, especially his long running Harry Dresden series. Anyone who can keep the same characters for over three books and not lose sight of who they were or how they delevoped is amazing.  Finally, I love pretty much any fictional book about King Arthur. Two works that really stick out in my mind are "Le'Morte De Arthur," by Sir Thomas Mallory who write the original collection of Arthurian stories; and "The Once and Future King," by T.S. Elliot.  Both are fascinating pieces of literature. I'll try to sum up why I write.  I love stories. I love characters. I love creating them.  I'm doing what I love.  I hope you enjoy my work. I'll finish with this quote from Jim Henson's short running television series, The Storyteller. "When people told themselves their past with stories...explained their present with stories...foretold the future with stories...The best place by the fire was kept for...The Storyteller."
