Background
Information
I grew up in a highly dysfunctional family with a history of father's alcoholism and mother's mental illness. OBE and near death before the age of two. Army provided money for college and GA got me through the Ph.D. I controlled nightmares wtih dream programming as a university freshman and then learned how to control the other altered states. I rejected Freud by my second year as a university student and went on to explore psychological and physiological aspects of dreams, extended attention, pain control and the like.
Unusual phenomenal experiences drew me to delve into the meaning of consciousness, self and phenomenology itself. I discovered how to remove depresson and eliminate anxiety before I graduated with my BA. In the 1950s cognitive-behavioral therapy was considered strange as Freud and Behaviorism were all the rage.
Today neuroscience has filled many of the speculative gaps endlessly discussed by philosophers and psychologists. My post-doctoral work with various treatment modalities built on my university courses in Rogerian Counseling. I wrote this three book series to document my discovery process, what I have learned from 70 years of lucid dream,s dream control, self-hypnosis, and self therapies. I offer my life's knowledge, insights and methods freely. And, am pleased to dialogue. When I speculate I tell you; when there is empirical evidence I try to share it factually. And, I look forward to the next gernation of studies in dreams, psychology of self, and new treatment approaches in mental health.
