As a child Enid Blyton and Robert Louis Stevenson were my favourite writers, from the age of 7 I started my own personal library - lending books to my friends a short periods of time and charging them when they returned books late.  I spent many hours writing stories and sharing them with my friends.   I was a prolific storyteller.  One of my favourite stories in those days was 'The railway children'.  While at University I came to appreciate Wilfred Owen, Seigfried Sassoon and Sylvia Plath.  Nowadays, I simply appreciate good writing, modern or old.  I am a fan of CSI and other crime series whether for reading or watching on TV - not that I watch an awful lot of TV,  I love reading and writing, and I love singing but that's another story. I have two children's books on Amazon available to buy in paperback and to download to kindle: 'Tommy's Shadow' and 'Tommy meets Tom Thumb', and a monologue 'Confession'., with a collection of monologues and a story called 'The Gillvined Travellers' about to be published.   I also have a poetry book on lulu.com with a second poetry book on the way simply called 'Words'., covering poetry, prose and song lyrics..  I love the way lulu.com into hardcover format. I am currently working on another Tommy story, my autobiographical novel 'Dead Memories, Shattered Lives',  and I have started on a crime novel known only as 'Waiting' to me at the moment, it involves murder, drugs, crime and prostitution and revenge - a good title will eventually rear its head as the story progresses.  My synopsis for this will be available to view shortly.  Another crime novel is on the back burner at the moment 'The Angel in the Well' - this started off as a short story but everyone has pressed me to turn it into a novel, so I will, eventually. When I get ideas I have to write them down so I have many projects on the go at any one time and eventually one will be finished so I can move on to the next.   I also spend a significant amount of time editing a friends crime Novels but trying to juggle my own writing and editting others work is proving difficult although equally enjoyable.

After achieving a diploma in Education I left university with a BACS (Hons) Degree in Special Educational Needs and Creative Writing and went on to do a PGCE in English Teaching and a diploma in ASD. I worked with children and adults with Autism for several years before entering the teaching profession. I am qualified to teach English and Creative Writing.
