Major writing influencers, in order as I grew, were Robert Louis Stephenson (Treasure Island), Ernest Hemingway (The Old Man and the Sea) and Herman Hesse (Siddartha). After 20 years working for national and international businesses, I moved to journalism, where I learned the writing craft. Family has always come first for me, but my non-family time is now divided between serving as CEO of Professional Independent Publishing Standards (pipsverified.com) and my own books. I try to put my considerable life experience to work by helping others where I can. My mission, through my books, is to help people towards a better life. I write mainly creative non-fiction  and strive constantly to write simple, concise and clear prose. I want the reading experience to be rewarding and enjoyable. The motto on the Brian Morgan Books website is Stories to touch lives - and that is my constant aim.  I believe we all have an obligation, in the family, at work, in the community and as a voyager on this planet, to leave things a little better for our having passed through. That is why I founded and now run PiPS - to make the independent and self-publishing industry better than I found it.

My major work, The Life of Jude, won a Fellowship of Australian Writers National Literary ward.
