I have had a lifelong interest in birds and flight and have been fortunate enough to combine them both. I currently work as an Environmental Educator with Wings to Soar, a non profit organization based near Chattanooga, Tennessee. My wife, Dale, and I conduct live birds of prey programs at schools, state parks, civic groups and at Rock City, a local attraction above Chattanooga. I have worked professionally with birds since 1977 and have been a hang glider pilot since 1975. Major influences in my life have been Marlin Perkins, Jacques Cousteau, Jane Goodall, Johnny Carson and David Letterman (I am a big fan of comedy).. I was motivated to write this book about my life and the events that led me to take a one-winged Bald Eagle hang gliding because I felt that I have had an interesting life. I hope the readers of my book will think so as well.
