I'm from a small farm town in Northwest Missouri. Much of my writing has a Midwest flavor, though it's often described as "sexy." Sylvia Plath and Sharon Olds are influential to my work, as well as the music of my teen years (Tori Amos and Broadway musicals, for example). While I identify mainly as a poet, I also write fiction, nonfiction, and reviews.

Six time Pushcart Nominee, Langston Hughes Award 2012, Best of the Net nominee. My first poetry collection, Mythology of Touch, was released in 2012 by Woodley Press. I have four chapbooks coming out in the next year or so - "Aching Buttons" (Dancing Girl Press), "Blink Finch" (Kattywompus Press), "The Dopamine Letters" (Hyacinth Girl Press), and a collaborative chapbook, "Honey and Bandages" (Folded Word Press), co-written with Katie Longofono. My poetry and prose has appeared or is forthcoming in many fine journals, including Mid-American Review, Gargoyle, South Dakota Review, Arts & Letters, PinUp Poetry Review, Noctua Review, and others.
