Becoming a writer has been Antonia Monacelli's life long dream. She is an avid reader, obsessed with genealogy, fascinated by geisha, and addicted to coffee and tea. As a freelancer, Antonia started out writing and editing online marketing materials for a few years before she branched out on her own. She then started writing for various internet outlets, focusing on true crime articles. She is most well known for her popular hubpage series "Murderous Children". Antonia inherited a love of true crime from her mother, and history from her father. She combined both of those passions for her first book, Some Families Just Can't Hack It. By combining newspaper articles with genealogy research, Antonia used real historical murders as inspiration for five short stories of fictional familicide. Antonia's obsession with genealogy is what inadvertently sparked her fascination with historical murders. Although she had always been interested in stories of true crime, it wasn't until she stumbled across a death registration record for a judicial hanging during her own ancestry research that her interest in historical murders began. This inspired not only her first book, but also her vintage crime blog, On This Day in Murder.
