I'm not quite sure what Mom meant by that but I reassured her that, as a librarian, everything I know I learned from books! Especially the eight that I've written. I was born in southeastern New Mexico in the town of Carlsbad. Some of my first memories have to do with going to the library and I cannot remember a time I didn't want to grow up to be a librarian. While I never quite made it to a degree, I was fortunate enough to have a long career in libraries including the University of New Mexico's Law and Medical libraries, the Albuquerque Public Libraries as a children's specialist, and as Children's Librarian in the Carlsbad Public Library in my home town. So, librarians have had a big influence on my life. In 2003, I was unable to continue working full-time because of fibromyalgia. That was a devastating blow to me. Even though I already had two books published, I had always thought of myself as a librarian, something I would never be again. It took a long time and another book to rebrand myself as a writer/author in my own mind. It was a hidden blessing, though. As long as my energy permits,I am able to write full-time amd  I have been able to write several more books and have a busy career as a free-lance writer for magazines. Just this year(2015), my romances, The Taylor's Girls Series, changed publisher to Artemesia Publishing, a local New Mexico Publisher. I have, or am, rewriting and updating the series including turning four books into five! I have also dipped my fingers into children's books with the publication in 2010 of my Tale of the Pronghorned Cantaloupe. A new children's book should be published for Christmas 2016. In the meantime I've written a book of haiku poetry and the "life story" of a historic New Mexico hotel. My latest work in progress is a dual time period ghost story set in Venice. I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and spent a week in Venice. That was my entire bucket list so it's time to set some new dreams and goals.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING (2000) won the Best Romance award in the second year of the New Mexico Book Awards. The 15th anniversary edition published in 2015 is a finalist in the 2015 Arizona/New Mexico Book Awards, again the Best Romance Category to be awarded in November 2015.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING received an Honorable Mention in the 2nd Annual Jada Book Awards and earned a 3rd Place win as Best New Author in the 2002 Lories (Long Contemporary Romance)
