Background Information

Vincenzo J. Macrino was born and raised in a devout Italian American Roman Catholic family, where faith was a cornerstone of daily life. From an early age, he served as an altar boy and received religious instruction through the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) program. His passion for Scripture and theology led him to study the Bible in depth, eventually broadening his interest to include the major Abrahamic religions—Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Through years of study and critical examination, Vincenzo came to the profound realization that the writings of Paul of Tarsus stood in direct contradiction to the Torah, the Hebrew Scriptures, and even the teachings of the Messiah as recorded in the four Gospels. In 2012, he began a gradual journey toward Torah observance, seeking to align his life with the eternal commandments of God. Eventually, Vincenzo converted to Conservative Judaism, all while quietly maintaining his belief in the truth of Yeshua—the Torah-faithful Messiah—not the Greco-Roman reinterpretation known as “Jesus Christ” propagated through the teachings of Paul and the institutional church. For years, he believed he was alone in this conviction—until he discovered Lapid Judaism. In Lapid, he found a spiritual home and a like-minded community, ultimately embracing a life of Orthodox Torah observance in the merit of Yeshua HaMashiach.
