My son collapsed, died at Myrtle Beach. I know pain, grief very well. I am also, a very positive person... no matter what... I know everything will be alright. My website: http://happycolorsandgrannygee.blogspot.com

Background Information

I am no one special, only an everyday person... grief was my motivation to write.  Pain, grief... I know well.  I pretend to be none other than myself.  I love to write.  Pain, grief motivated me to write... my books, blog is where I channeled, wrote my pain, grief.  You may find a mistake, but... that's okay.  I've corrected many of them, still find a mistake when looking back over my work ... I tried so hard to be 'perfect'...  I'm just not perfect, nor are my books.  It's just the way I am... I CRY FOR TOMMY... is pure, raw grief as I experienced it.  I haven't found a book to help me know what a 'grieving mother' experiences is like, to know the stages they go through.  If someone gets any comfort at all from my book, it would mean the world to me.  I know how hard it is... to find comfort 'anywhere' since my son died. I thought I knew pain, grief ...my whole life... I've lost most all my loved ones, I have very few 'family' members left.  We were brought up to not be close... so, with the exception of several... it's like not having ... 'family'.  I 'let go' of them... I had no choice. When my son died... I learned a whole new dimension of what pain, grief is.  I will grieve for Tommy... for the rest of my life, he was my only child, my beautiful son. I wrote 'I CRY FOR TOMMY' as a way to never forget Tommy... he was a real person, he had such a 'Tommy' personality.  Like everyone's child, loved one... a grieving mother will remember her child until her last, dying breath.  I am that grieving mother.  Everyone deserves to be remembered... we all lived, traveled Life's Journey in our own ways, making mistakes, learning from them... we all have stories to tell.  I find it sad when one dies, there's nothing left to remember them by. You see books on a bookshelf... they all have different stories... we all are like those books... when someone 'reads us'... we all ...come alive.  Someone remembers 'us'.  When someone reads my book 'I CRY FOR TOMMY'... they will bring his memory back to life... someone will remember Tommy... even when I'm gone from this world. I, also, wrote this book so, one day when my two grandchildren grow up... they find my blog, books... 'see' a picture of their 'Granny Gee' in their minds, have a way to 'know me' ... just a little.  To know their Pa Skip, and our Pups...  I would have loved having such to know family who died before I was born.  As children, they haven't had the chance to know me, Skip, the Pups. My whole world is my soul mate, best friend, my hero... Skip.  He and our Pups are ... my world.  They are all I have left, I love them with my very being. My blog, Facebook friends/followers/fans have meant the very world to me.  They've 'all been there' to help me through my grief.  At any moment, someone reaches out to me, offers comfort.  I've been like a pink sponge... I absorbed all the comfort that came my way.  My heart has been like a ... fireplace.  All the comfort sent my way from 'my special people'... has been like someone putting wood on the fire to make it burn... warm, bright. I'm here 'now', because of Skip, our Pups, and ... you.  When Tommy died, I died inside... For the first time in my life, I ... quit. It will be three years on May 29, 2013... since Tommy died in 2010.  He, also died inside, on May 19, 2009... a terrible thing happened in his life.  He couldn't get past it... he died exactly one year later. I hope you will read 'I CRY FOR TOMMY', remember Tommy just for a little while, help me to never forget him.  You all mean the world to me, I treasure every reader, follower, fan... I have.  I love you all.  Love, Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee PS.. Before Tommy died, he gave me the name 'Granny Gee' for his little son to call me.  That name has been very precious to me because he did... I have been Granny Gee in name only... I don't see my two grandchildren.  I have a beautiful granddaughter, and handsome grandson... both look like Tommy.  Sunshine... their smiles I compare with ... sunshine.  Tommy was ... sunshine ... to me.
