I was born and raised in the big city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Reading has been part of my life as far back as I can remember. It seems I always had books around and read anything I could get my hands on. I would go to the library two or three times a week. My library card was one of my most cherished possessions. I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t reading some sort of a book. In 1986, I left the city life behind and moved to the north woods of Wisconsin. I think it was the best move I ever made! I raised my two children in a small rural community where everyone knew everyone—literally! It was at that time my love of nature grew and I formed a new found respect for the great outdoors. Unlike most writers, I had never even thought about being a writer. Heck, it wasn’t even on my bucket list! But in January of 2011, an idea came to mind while talking with a friend, and I decided to see if I could turn those thoughts into a story. I wrote my first story Oh, Deer, and it was released in June, 2011. In November of 2011, my second eBook was published and is titled, When It Leaves. Both stories are mild horror; really creepy tales involving nature. I have many manuscripts in the works. My new paranormal-romance Words of an Angel, will be published in the next few weeks! I was given a very, unexpected gift in finding out just how much I love and enjoy writing. I have always been an avid reader, but never did I think I could be a writer and tell stories that other people would enjoy reading. It goes to show life is full of surprises. Had someone told me a few years ago that I would be a published author, I would have laughed. But having someone tell you that you’re good at something and sincerely mean it, followed with encouragement, can make all the difference in what you choose to do next. Try to remember that when you’re talking with people, friends, or family. What you say and how you say it, may make a huge difference in the path of someone’s life. Now, while still doing in-home day care, I also do my "domestic goddess" duties, taking care of my home and the wonderful man in my life. Even with all that on my plate, I find time to write, and consider myself very blessed in being able to throw my hat in the ring with the other very talented authors. When time allows, you’ll find me reading or doing one of my hobbies such as scrapbooking. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family… especially my grandson. I think I will always have a book that needs reading. Whether it’s a romance with a bit of history in it, a mystery that I want to solve before the final chapter or a horror story that leaves me sleeping with the lights on, books will always be a huge part of me and my life. And then there are the stories that I feel need to be written and told… Now, if I could only get over my fear of the dark and flying J
