Susan Sloate is the author of 20 published books, fiction and nonfiction, mainstream and young-adult. These include the bestselling novels STEALING FIRE and FORWARD TO CAMELOT: 50th Anniversary Edition, and REALIZING YOU (with Ron Doades), for which she invented a new genre: the self-help novel.  STEALING FIRE is a semi-autobiographical love story set in 1980's New York and L.A. against the backdrop of Broadway musical theater. The first day it appeared on Amazon, it went to #2 in its category within 12 hours. STEALING FIRE was a Quarter-Finalist (top 5%) in the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. FORWARD TO CAMELOT is a time-travel thriller about the JFK assassination, which features such historical figures as President John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, Lee Oswald, Bobby Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, among others. The original edition, published in 2003, was a #6 Amazon bestseller, took honors in 3 literary competitions and was optioned by a Hollywood movie company for film production. Susan has also written 17 published young-adult books, including five biographies, histories, sports and entries in five separate girls' book series. She has been a sportswriter and a screenwriter and written feature magazine articles for several different publications across the nation. She has also managed two recent political campaigns and founded an authors' festival in her community to bring together published authors with students in age-appropriate programs about literacy. The festival reached 8,000 in one day.  She lives outside Charleston, SC.
