I taught children and then teachers in eleven different settings in seven different states and after I retired I was interested in trying my hand at writing fiction.My first novel, Too Much Left Unsaid involves characters who live their lives in the turmoil of 20th century America. The story begins in 1918 with six-year-old Mattie's father dying from the flu and ends in1969 when Mattie tells her story to the mysterious visitor in her living room. As a child in Chicago and then Pittsburgh (and then Chicago again) I lived my first eleven years under one president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I have always been fascinated with the way historical events drive personal choices. Unpredictable circumstance must be accommodated.
