Phil Sanderson is the author of 2018: An Uncivil War and An Interstate Ghost Story: The Girl on the Highway.   He wrote 2018 in an effort to give readers a look at what could potentially happen if our nation ever became completely divided over the issue of gun control.  The novel follows the actions of two Marine veterans who happen to be best friends despite their very different feelings on the issue.  The novel is packed with action, romance, thrills, and political intrigue. As for "AIGS:GOTH", this is his first horror novel.  Having done so much research into various topics for his first work, he wanted the writing of his second novel to not be nearly as complicated.  In this work, a ghost on the highway is causing numerous accidents requiring the state troopers to solve the mystery of the "Girl on the Highway". The author wrote his first short story as a teenager as part of a high school creative writing class and has been writing eversince.  Immediately upon graduation from high school, he joined the Marine Corps as a Landing Support Specialist.  However, a few years later he made a lateral move into the field of public affairs and print photojournalism.   Sanderson has always dreamed of becoming a bestselling author since reading Ian Flemings first James Bond novel, Casino Royale.  Fleming was a major influence on his writing style up until he began reading the novels of Tom Clancy.  Lately he has only recently started to read the Mitch Rapp series of Vince Flynn.   Sanderson welcomes all readers to his works as he ventures into a late career as a budding novelist.  

Sanderson's one-act play, titled "Night of the Oblivious Writer", was selected as one of three to be performed by his high school's drama department. The play by this high school senior was said to be the best of the three in the high school newspaper!

Sanderson's early work as a Marine photojournalist had been selected to appear in Marines and Leatherneck Magazines in the early 1990s. Those two magazines were perhaps the two most prestigious ones in the Marine Corps at the time.
