I sold Insurance for ALFA Insurance for 26 years. A year after Hurricane Ivan hit Gulf Shores I got tired of how ALFA treated me and my clients and retired that spring. That fall when Little Dude went back to school I got bored and started my own company, Starfish Insurance. After 2 years business was going really well so I hired a sweet 62 year old lady to be my bookkeeper after I checked out her references. Her son, Gregory started stopping my in the afternoon to she her. We quickly became friends so I hired him part time since he was a Baptist Preacher and had a Masters Degree in Accounting. He finally asked me to hire him full time. At the time I could not afford him and his mother. He told me no worries he was sure something would come up. Well it did. His mother fell two months later and broke both of her arms. She said he would be a good replacement until she could come back. She never planned on coming back. She set me up and I took the bait. Gregory had already seen all the money coming in. In order for him to committ 176 fraud cases he had to have me out of the office. He started bringing me a cup of coffee every morning. I got sick and he convinced me I was being bit by spiders. Instead he was putting rat posion in my coffee. I stayed sick in bed for 5 months and almost died. The Alabama Insurance Department, Secret Service and IRS all got involved. The book is about before, during and after he left like the thief in the night he was. I thought there would only be a few fraud cases dude was I ever wrong. I picked up Little Dude's spiderman notebook and a pen after work one day. I wanted to find some humour in the day.  It started out as my therapy and ended up as a book. My clients told me I had the most interesting life and I should write a book so I did.
