Marc was born in Detroit, Michigan. At various points in his teens he was encouraged to explore his creative side, including writing, dance, and theatre. Eventually he went off to college to study theatre. Theatre led to a dance class which led to a career as a professional modern dancer in Europe and New York City. In the early nineties Marc reinvented himself (you cannot dance forever) by completing a masters in counseling psychology and developing a hip-hop dance-based counseling program for at-risk youth, titled the Berkshire Project.
