Douglas C. Eby, a Washingtonian residing in Georgetown, studied economics at Catholic University and received his MBA in finance from Indiana University. His successful and diverse Wall Street career has focused primarily on the investment management business.  He is a venture partner in a firm investing in next generation technology, communications and information companies, and has enjoyed the pleasure of serving on the board of directors of multiple public and private companies in the technology, financial services, real estate and healthcare industries.  In addition to writing Blood Herring, he is the author and publisher of If You Please, an online publication of original stories, articles, essays and opinions covering a wide range of related themes that provide a colorful perspective on humanity. In his writing, Eby relies heavily on his extensive international travel, years of business and Wall Street experience and personal studies of history motivated by a love of humanity’s past. Employing his eclectic style, one which emphasizes informative entertainment, Eby has written articles for IYP about Cuba, Warren Buffett, the Oscars, South Beach, Mick Jagger and Mars One’s planned one-way trip to the mysterious Red Planet. He has attended and written about some of the most important sessions of the Supreme Court of the United States in recent history including the same sex marriage cases, DOMA and Windsor, as well as the constitutional challenge of the Affordable Care Act.
