Background
Information
From a very young age I was infatuated with anything and everything that had to to with the outdoors. Fishing the streams and ponds of northern Ohio occupied much of my free time until I graduated high school and moved down to Fort Worth TX where I attended TWU on a basketball scholarship. It was there where I was exposed to hunting. I was hooked.
My teamates having grown up in the south have hunted most of their lives already. With me, it was all new and exciting. I couldn't get enough. I did every kind of hunting allowed and in Texas, you could hunt soemthing just about any time of year. I started out with dove, then deer, turkey and quail. It wasn't until I took in a black lab puppy that I realized I had a problem, an addiction rather. I became hopelessy enthralled with all things having to do with duck hunting.
I had no mentors and not many of my teamates enjoyed getting up so early to sit in the cold and rain so I basicly learned by trial and error. I was a slow process but I remained resilliant. In short order, I had become proficient enough to consistantly take home limits of ducks. It was now that I had a wider circle of influence and as it turned out, I met more and more duckaholics. I became the local go-to guy for training newbies the fine sport of duck hunting.
Next I started guiding for an outfitter and quickly realized, I could be doing this on my own, so I did. Several years later of continued growth and I hade to start turning away business as me and my four other guides could not handle any more business. Word had spread quickly in the north TX area that my guide service www.fourcurlnation.com was THE service to call on when visting the area for a wide variety of ducks and occassional geese.
It was then that I began putting pen to pad in order to share my experience with others.
