The History of a Writer: Stacy L Thowe             In the beginning…Stacy L. Thowe graduates from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where she earns her BA in English with an emphasis in writing. She is an elected member of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. During her senior year at Washburn she was asked to read her short story “Albert’s Great Adventure” at the National Undergraduate Literature Conference held in Ogden, Utah.    Bringing her dreams to life…Stacy publishes a creative nonfiction story called “This is Your Captain Speaking, Mild Turbulence Ahead” in Airplane Reading, an online literary magazine. The inspiration for this story came from her madcap adventure with her two youngest daughters on their first plane ride to Disneyworld. Her story “Black Marble, Blue Dress” was published in the November, 2013 issue of Skive Magazine.  This story was also inspired by a real event, a family she saw kneeling around a graveside. “I Heard You Cry Again” is one of Stacy’s poems published in Torrid Literary Journal, Vol VI. This poem was born in response to the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. “It May Not Be Writing as You Expect It” is the title of a guest blog for the blog, The Head and Hand Press, published on October 16, 2013.  Her short story “The Gift” was published by The Greensilk Journal, an online literary magazine, found at thegsj.com/stories-winter-2014. Her story “Albert’s Great Adventure” was published by Beyond Imagination Magazine, the April 2014 issue. The digital magazine is available through Amazon. She is the proud author of her first eBook, “The Guardians: Angels, Demons and Mortals” available through Synergebooks.com, stacythowe.com and Amazon.com.
