I have always loved writing and wrote three other books before starting the Brave Strong Girls series. What's the Brave Strong Girls series about? They keep the magic of the traditionl fairytales, but throw out the timid, passive princesses, inspiring our children instead with strong girl characters.  I have a five-year-old daughter, Iona, who reads everything and anything. More and more I became frustrated with the classic tales she adores. Princesses do little but sleep or be trapped, before getting rescued by a boy. Most are named after their physical attributes. The evil characters are all older women.... and I see all this reflected in her developing attitudes and beliefs about what girls can do and how they should behave.  So, that's where the original idea came from. I've written three so far, published in October 2015. They are: Brave, Strong Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Brave, Strong Leonie and the Race of a Lifetime The Brave, Strong Mermaid They are written with a sense of fun and magic, with gorgeous full page illustrations. Each of them feature girl characters who take initiative, using their talents and determination to win the day.  These books are written with a passion for helping girls grow up brave and strong around the world. For that reason, all profits go to charities who empower and educate girls. This year, profits will be going to the Malala Fund.
